Roy is a Principal and co-founder of The Neutral Zone Coaching and Consulting Services Inc. He is an experienced arbitrator, mediator, facilitator, investigator, and trainer who works with individuals, communities, and public and private-sector organizations to resolve disputes and improve communication, teamwork, leadership, and organizational effectiveness. Roy is a sought-after national conference speaker on topics such as diversity, inclusion, unconscious or implicit bias, and workplace respect and bullying. He is the co-author of "Turning Conflict into Profit," which is a top-selling book in the field of conflict resolution.

Roy has over 20 years of experience in resolving disputes ranging from interpersonal complaints to complex multi-issue conflicts. He holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Alberta and an MA from Simon Fraser University. Roy also has a post-graduate diploma in Adult Education from the University of BC, and he earned a Certificate of Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of BC. Roy is ProSci® certified and ADRIC certified in alternative dispute resolution.

Roy has served as a member of the Police Complaints Resolution Roster, a Governor of the Justice Institute of BC, a Panel Chair of the BC Employment and Assistance Appeal Tribunal, a volunteer with various LGBTQ2S+ organizations, and a Director of the Board of Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of BC. Currently, Roy is involved in strata governance in Canada and the United States.

Roy specializes in delivering keynote addresses and training on communication, teamwork, leadership development, organizational conflict and dispute resolution, mediation, management consulting, executive coaching, workplace bullying rehabilitation, human rights, respectful workplace investigation, and trauma-informed practice.
