Over 30 years of education, business and leadership skills have given Shelly McLaughlin the basis to resolve conflict effectively by listening exceptionally, grasping complex concepts, guiding negotiations and encouraging positive outcomes with success. She has a unique perspective, having worked successfully in the investment industry prior to discovering the field of conflict resolution. She has built a diverse alternative dispute resolution practice working with private and public sector organizations as well as with families and neighbourhoods.
Shelly is currently on the rosters for: BC Family and Civil Mediation, WorksafeBC PAC Mediation, BC Insurance Arbitration, BC property assessment review, Sport Dispute Resolution centre of Canada Arbitration and Mediation, Better Business Bureau (BBB), and a member of the Employment and Assistance Tribunal and Property Assessment Review Panel.
Shelly completed her HBA at the Western University while interning with the International Foundation of Employee Benefits and shortly thereafter completed the rigorous Chartered Financial Analyst program and certification. Over the past two decades, she has earned her Certification in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute, completed training in Restorative Justice Facilitation with the RCMP, Arbitration through Royal Roads University, Mediation-Arbitration with the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC, and Workplace investigation certification through Rubin Thomlinson LLP. She is a Chartered Mediator and Qualified Arbitrator through ADRIC, and a Chartered Divorce Financial Analyst through IDFA.
